Jessica's Story
Jessica Guilbaud, born in El Salvador and raised in the lively city of Los Angeles by migrant parents from Guangzhou, discovered her passion for food at a young age. Memories of her sitting on the kitchen counter at her dad's restaurant led to her pursuing culinary arts in High School and competing in SkillsUSA, sparking a lifelong journey that has spanned over 17 years. She studied at Le Cordon Bleu and was mentored by some of the industry's greatest.

Over the years, Jessica has had the privilege of working alongside and learning from some of the industry's most talented chefs. Influences from culinary legends such as Jose Andres, Aitor Zabala, Bryant Ng, Jon and Vinny, Claud Beltran, and many more have left an indelible mark on her approach to cooking. This diverse exposure provided not just culinary insights but also an extensive understanding of restaurant management.
These years became the core of Jessica's culinary journey, providing a unique foundation that blends cultural influences from El Salvador and Guangzhou with the diverse culinary depths of Los Angeles. After 13 years working in the restaurant industry, Jessica started 'Jess Chef It Up' in 2022, embarking on her private chef journey. The kitchen became her playground, a canvas where she explored the blend of flavors, cuisines, and love for each ingredient. Taking pride in who she is, culturally and personally, manifests in the vibrant and diverse flavors that blend within her world.
One of Jessica’s distinctive attributes is a close collaboration with local farmers. This commitment to sourcing fresh, high-quality ingredients not only showcases a dedication to sustainability but also ensures that each dish features the finest produce. As Jessica continues to evolve and create in the culinary landscape, she remains a testament to the power of passion, perseverance, and a profound love for the art of cooking.
